We've developed and launched a new website for the international exchange initiative, 'East-West: The Art of Dialogue.'
The initiative was launched by the Shafik Gabr Foundation, and is built around an exchange programme that brings together emerging leaders from the Arab world and the West. The foundation says:
"The Mission of 'East-West: The Art of Dialogue' is to promote greater mutual understanding by building bridges between the people of the Arab world and the West, particularly with the U.S, by instigating dialogue and the exchange of ideas between theses two cultures."
We designed the project's multimedia website, which includes articles, blogs, videos and photos from 'East-West' events around the world.
The initiative was inspired by Mr Gabr's collection of art by Orientalist painters, who he describes as 'the early globalists.' We've incorporated these works into the website's design, and images from the collection appear across the site.
The site's homepage uses large images and quotes, and 'call to action' panels:
The website is divided into 4 sections, containing information, images and videos on the programme and its background:
For each section, we've created an overview page, as shown below:
There is also a page of video content, with over 20 videos from various 'East-West' events.
We completely redesigned the original website to create this new, fully responsive layout. Other features include 15 different albums of more than 750 photographs, and a new online application portal for those interested in applying to the programme.
