Inclusive Digital CEO Nigel Dacre has been elected as the Chair of the Local TV Association.
The Association represents the companies and organisations that have won licences to broadcast Local TV channels in the UK - with the first channels expected to go on air later in the year.
The election was held at a meeting of all licencees, held in Birmingham. The appointment is for a year.
After his appointment, Nigel said: "It is a great honour to be elected as the Local TV Association's first Chair. There's a lot of work to do in sorting out how the Association will work, overseeing the selection of a national sales agency and other suppliers, and liaising with Ofcom and the newly appointed infrastructure company Comux".
19 Local TV licences have been awarded so far for the following towns and cities: for Belfast, Birmingham, Brighton & Hove, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Grimsby, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Norwich, Nottingham, Oxford, Preston, Sheffield and Southampton.
Further licences will be put out to tender by Ofcom during the coming months.
