Local Digital News owns part of Notts TV, and is a member of the Notts TV consortium, along with Nottingham Trent University and Confetti Media. Notts TV started broadcasting in May 2014.
LDN played a crucial role in setting up the consortium, and went on to oversee the licence application for the channel. This included writing the programming, TV News, staff, management, and compliance sections of the application document.
Since the channel was launched, LDN has continued to support Notts TV - by being members of the channel's Board, operating its website, providing editorial and compliance advice, representing the channel on national groups, and producing programmes.
Local Digital News has so far produced over 20 half hour programmes for the Notts TV channel - in the Nottingham Now and Then series, and the Day in the Life series.
LDN came up with the format for the programmes, and has been producing them since the channel launched in May 2014.
The programmes deliver high quality on low budgets, using local Nottingham-based camera crews and editors.
Inclusive Digital and Local Digital News have played an important role in the setiing up the Local TV Network (LTVN).
The LTVN represents UK Local TV Channels. It provides a forum for channels to discuss policies and issues, represents the channels in discussions with other organisations, and negotiates relevant agreements on behalf of channels.
Inclusive's CEO Nigel Dacre was the Chair of the LTVN from 2013 to 2015, and LDN's Steve Perkins was the head of its Government and Regulatary Working Group.
Local Digital News was commissioned by the University of Bedfordshire in in 2013 to carry out a feasibility study into the Luton and Bedford Local TV licences.
LDN wrote a series of reports for the university, including a draft licence application.
The work included drawing up editorial, management and financial plans for a local TV channel - and liaising with both the University and local Luton organisations.
Inclusive Digital teamed up with Steve Perkins in July 2011 to set up the new company, Local Digital News – to offer digital, editorial and management services to local TV channels.
The limited company is jointly owned - and the company's directors are Inclusive's CEO Nigel Dacre and Steve Perkins.
Steve is a former Head of Content Policy at Ofcom. Nigel is a former Editor of ITV News.
Inclusive played a major role in the News 3 consortium, which bid for one of the IFNC local news contracts in 2010.
The consortium included Trinity Mirror, the Press Association and Ten Alps.
We edited the tender document and drew up plans for a multi-platform newsroom in Newcastle.
The new government cancelled the IFNC pilots in the summer of 2010.
We provided consultancy services to Ten Alps and Kent County Council for the digital channel Kent TV - from 2007 until 2010.
Kent TV was one of the first council-funded online local TV channels - and contained How To and advice videos, feedback functionality, and an interactive What's On section.
