This week, we launched the new Royal College of Radiologist CPD Video Library website.
We have worked with the Royal College of Radiologists for three years, building their original e-Learning site and filming events, conferences and exam videos.
Over the last few months we have worked closely with the RCR to develop the video site and incorporate some new features, such as a new layout for the CPD process and an Archive for older lectures.
We wanted to make the site as user friendly as possible, whilst mirroring the design of the main RCR website. We’ve kept the branding and colours from the original site, but made it more visual and included more images to brighten up the site.
To make it easy for users to find what they are looking for, we have added a flag to each lecture thumbnail, indicating whether the lecture is Clinical Radiology or Clinical Oncology. The library is clearly divided into categories. Once inside the library, the user can also choose individual events, and see all the content from that event.
The CPD process has also been redesigned; once the user has viewed a lecture alongside the slideshow presentation, they are given the option of completing a Reflective Learning Form to gain one CPD credit. Once this activity has been completed, users can download a personalised certificate, and move on to fill out a CPD impact evaluation form, and earn an extra CPD credit.
The technology behind this is complex, as the system monitors user activity and generates personalised documents to fill out and download. The system is also flexible and works well across operating systems and browsers.
We are really pleased with the new video library and have received positive feedback from both the RCR and visitors to the site.
