RSM podcasts achieve high listener numbers

A series of podcasts we produced for the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) has had impressive six-month listening figures.

The audio discussions were listened to a total of 17,893 times across a number of platforms and apps including the RSM website, iTunes, Soundcloud, Spotify and Sticher.

Inclusive Digital edited, co-produced and distributed three series including:

RSM The NHS at 70: This series marked the 70th anniversary of the NHS and involved a number of interviews by health journalist Sue Saville of notable figures like Lord David Owen and Lord Maurice Saatchi.

RSM Health Matters: This series featured discussions between influential figures from the world of medicine like Professor Sir Simon Wessely, Consultant Psychiatrist and Past President of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and Professor Clare Gerada, GP and Past Chairperson of the Royal College of General Practitioners. Topics included increasing use of antidepressants, antibiotic prescribing and antimicrobial resistance as well as the gender pay gap in medicine.

RSM Medicine Unwrapped: Presented by Dr Susan Burnett, this looked at the science and medicine behind the news headlines. The first episode went live at the end of May with the focus on prostate cancer.

The podcasts were edited by Inclusive Digital’s producers Ben Ridley, Robin Campbell and Allan Taylor using Adobe Audition.

“The six-monthly figures are great news for the RSM and Inclusive Digital and demonstrate that people like the flexibility and choice that digital media has to offer,” said Ben.

The podcasts can be heard or downloaded from iTunes, Audioboom, Stitcher and SoundCloud as well as on the RSM videos and podcasts website here.
